Tělák – Theatrical Exhibition

The school gym, changing rooms, and showers are places where teenagers become intensely aware of their bodies, come face to face with the pressure of established gender norms, and find themselves exposed to the eyes of others. This is exactly where visitors are taken by the Tělák exhibition at the Museum of Prague, newly reopened this spring after an extensive renovation.

Tělák is a theatrical installation that doesn't display museum objects, but personal human stories – ones that nearly all of us have lived through. The exhibition opens up questions that young people across generations face: feelings of inadequacy about one's appearance, uncertainty about one's identity, fear of judgment, the pressure to "fit in," and the consequences when one doesn't.

Visitors experience firsthand stories of repression and exclusion, but also of finding oneself, celebrating freedom, mutual respect, support, and acceptance.

The exhibition is suitable for anyone aged 12 and up. Take your last chance to see this unique installation – it closes on Sunday, August 9.
