Messages Across Time / A Collective Artwork

A living artwork created throughout the entire Prague Pride Festival from stories, memories, emotions and visions of queer past, present and future.

All through Prague Pride Festival, you can contribute to a collective art installation made up of several canvases. Each canvas embodies a symbolic queer figure from a different era – someone who had to hide their identity, someone who faced persecution, someone who experienced their first Pride, a person living in the present, or someone from a future we are yet to imagine.

These won't be portraits of specific people. The figures will embody shared experiences, emotions and memories that connect LGBTQ+ people across generations. You can leave your mark through a drawing, a painting, a short message or another small artistic gesture. Share a memory, a hope, a worry, a question, an expression of solidarity, or anything else you feel matters. Every contribution becomes part of a larger shared story.

The installation also includes the Queer Future Wall, a space for collective reflection on the future through simple sentences to complete:

The Queer Future Wall is designed so that truly anyone can join in. A single word, a short sentence or a small symbol is enough – even that lets you become part of a shared reflection on queer past, present and future.
