About
This German drama by acclaimed director Faraz Shariat follows young public prosecutor Seyo Kim, a queer woman of Korean origin, as she investigates a racist attack in present-day Germany. Along the way, she uncovers disturbing connections between far-right violence, state institutions and a system that turns a blind eye to right-wing extremism instead of protecting justice.
The film sensitively weaves together themes of identity, migration, queer experience and structural discrimination. It shows how easily prejudice and exclusion can seep into everyday life and the workings of society. At a moment when times are shifting and voices calling to restrict minority rights are being heard again across Europe, Spravedlnost offers a timely story about why it matters to defend an open society in which everyone has the right to safety, dignity and equal treatment.
The film is in German with Czech and English subtitles. The screening will be followed by a discussion in Czech.
