About
Summer is the season of family picnics. There's nothing quite like sitting in the grass, chatting, sampling treats, and simply enjoying the moment while the kids run around together.
That's why you can't miss the picnic for Rainbow Families, organized as part of the Prague Pride Festival by Queer rodiny in collaboration with Lesbotoč! It's a chance to reconnect with familiar families you may not have seen in a while, and to meet brand new faces too.
Rainbow families often share experiences, information, and practical advice with one another. But just as important is simple human connection – having the chance to spend time together in an environment where nobody has to explain or justify anything.
And what about the kids? Will they have somewhere to play? A snack in a lunchbox alone won't cut it for the little ones. That's why an interactive experiential program called Cesta k moři (Journey to the Sea) awaits them, where they'll overcome obstacles together, discover unknown places, and find out what's hidden beneath the waves.
It's an activity somewhere between theater and a creative workshop, drawing children right into the story through games, movement, imagination, and shared discovery. Cesta k moři is a playful and safe space where the young audience can live out their own story full of emotion, laughter, and summer vibes. A proper adventure, in other words.
So the family plan for Wednesday, August 5th is clear: toss a blanket and a few snacks into your bag and bring the family to the beautiful surroundings of Grébovka park. The program kicks off at 4:00 PM. Follow the social media of Queer rodiny and Lesbotoč for the latest updates.

Organized by – Queer rodiny and Lesbotoč Queer rodiny regularly hosts meetups, creative workshops, and theater programs for kids, mainly around Brno. For this family picnic at the Prague Pride Festival, they've teamed up with Lesbotoč, a queer community for women who love women, offering a safe space for meeting new people and simply spending time together. Family matters – which is why it's so important to learn together and support the connection between families and communities.
