About
What to expect
This workshop opens up topics that many LGBTQ+ people face every day – from hateful comments online, through fear of how others might react, to a long-term sense of insecurity in public spaces.
We'll connect experiences of prejudice-motivated violence and discrimination with their impact on mental well-being and the feeling of safety. Together we'll talk about why the exhaustion from constantly explaining and defending one's own identity is real, how to recognise the line between "everyday" hate and violence, and where to seek support.
The event includes a moderated discussion, sharing of personal experiences, and practical information about available help and support.
Moderated by Jitka Vondrášková – social worker
Admission – voluntary
Accessibility – suitable for teens, wheelchair accessible
Vibe check – intimate event (up to approx. 30 people), quiet event (no loud music, shouting etc.), seating available, indoor venue
