About
What to expect
Public space has always been a more dangerous place for women than for men. Their bodies, appearance, sex lives, and personal choices have long been subject to public judgment, scrutiny, and media attention. With the rise of the internet, however, a whole new floodgate opened for telling women where — according to some — "their place" is.
In this talk, we'll introduce one of the first misogynist movements, known as Gamergate, which in 2014 outgrew itself and became a global phenomenon. You'll learn how it created a blueprint for the hate movements that followed, about its Czech footprint, and how its consequences still affect us today.
