Tělák – theatre exhibition

The school gym, changing rooms and showers are places where teenagers become acutely aware of their bodies, encounter the pressure of established gender norms and are exposed to the gaze of others. It is precisely into this setting that the Tělák exhibition takes visitors, hosted at the Museum of Prague, which reopened this spring after an extensive renovation.

Tělák is a theatrical installation that displays not museum objects, but personal human stories. Stories that almost every one of us has lived through. The exhibition raises questions that young people face across generations: feelings of inadequacy about one's appearance, uncertainty about one's identity, fear of being judged, pressure to "fit in" and the sanctions when one doesn't.

Visitors get to experience firsthand stories of repression and exclusion, but also of self-discovery, celebration of freedom, mutual respect, support and acceptance.

The exhibition is suitable for people of any age from 12 up. Take this last opportunity to see this unique installation, as it closes on Sunday, August 9.
