About
What did it used to mean to be queer – and what does it mean today? How have coming out, dating, language, politics, humour, or the idea of "being yourself" changed? And do queer generations even understand each other, or do we all sometimes feel like we're from different planets?
This talk show in a live podcast format offers an informal intergenerational debate about the queer past, present, and future. No lectures, no preaching. Look forward to an open conversation in the relaxed atmosphere of Dorado Coffee Betlémská, a fitting place for deeper topics, personal stories, and humour.
Actor Daniel Šíp will invite guests from across generations to the microphone to compare how the queer experience, language, relationships, and notions of safety and acceptance are changing.
The evening will also feature a short introduction to the upcoming queer coming-of-age series Filter, which captures growing up, first loves, the search for one's own identity, and the transition from primary to secondary school. The series will serve as one of the springboards for a discussion about which queer stories we need to see and hear today… and maybe stop taking quite so deadly seriously.
And because the best debates don't happen on stage alone, the audience will have space too. You can ask questions, react, share your own experience, or just come to sit with a drink and listen. The goal is to create a safe, open, and friendly space where different generations of queer people can meet, laugh, share their experiences, and maybe understand each other a little better.
The evening is hosted by seventeen-year-old actor Daniel Šíp, who has appeared in the series Jedna rodina, several short films, and also starred in his own original projects Duplicate and I Made It. His most recent engagement is one of the leading roles in the upcoming queer coming-of-age series Filter, which Czech Television will premiere this September.
