About
A motorcycle ride organized by LMC Czechia (Leather Motorcycle Club Czechia / Leather Men Club Czechia) and Teplé Strely (LGBTQ+ motorcyclists from Slovakia/Czech Republic)
Prague Pride Festival doesn't end with the city parade. From Monday to Sunday, there are many diverse events, and our organization LMC Czechia, which has many motorcycle enthusiasts in its ranks, decided to contribute an original event to the festival program this year. Our goal is to offer motorcycle lovers—not just from the LGBTQ+ community—an unique experience and to present our community to the public in a less known light: as enthusiasts of technology and the smell of gasoline.
If you share this passion with us, we invite you on a motorcycle ride along the route Prague – Terezín – Máchovo Lake – Mělník – Prague.
The first part of our journey takes us to Terezín, where we want to honor the memory of all victims who fought for freedom, democracy, and equality at the National Cemetery on the occasion of Prague Pride Festival; especially the memory of LGBTQ+ people who died in the past because they came out and didn't hide their identity, fought for LGBTQ+ rights, or became targets of hatred simply for being different. Because the Czech Republic still doesn't have a memorial dedicated to LGBTQ+ victims, the National Cemetery in Terezín seems to us the most appropriate place for this purpose.
Approximate Schedule: 12:00–13:00 Meeting point at the parking lot on Letná 14:00–14:30 Arrival at Terezín Fortress 14:30–15:00 Minute of silence to honor all victims of the Holocaust, including LGBTQ+ people 16:00 Arrival at Máchovo Lake, short break, drinks, option to swim and refresh 17:00 Departure toward Prague 19:00–20:00 Arrival in Prague
Admission – Free
Vibe – Intimate event (up to approximately 30 people), outdoor space
Organized by – LMC Czechia LMC Czechia brings together men interested in leather culture, leather lifestyle, and leather itself. The association is a service organization aimed at promoting the development of the LGBTQ+ community and a tolerant society in the Czech Republic. Leather culture emerged in the 1950s in the United States as a rebellion against post-war American mainstream. It evolved from motorcycle culture, whose members were perceived as masculine and independent, which attracted gay men who were frustrated with being stereotypically seen as effeminate.
