About
Times are changing, but Prague Pride Festival is here to stay. Come kick off this year's edition with us!
The festival opening is always a special night — the first time in a long while we all come together, reunite with familiar faces, and once again soak up that unique Pride atmosphere we've been missing all year. Expect a night packed with iconic hits and personalities who shape the (not just) Czech queer scene — from club and drag veterans to freshly born stars. Your host for the evening is the charismatic Jan Witek.
We kick things off at 17:30 with a duo of seasoned DJ veterans. DJ Henriette, founder of the Freedom Night project, has been lighting up the Czech club scene since 2004 and returns regularly to the Prague Pride Festival stage. Alongside her comes DJ Vilém, one of the longest-running house DJs in the Czech Republic, whose career began back in 1992 at the legendary Radost FX. His sets are famous for their live on-stage musicianship.
At 19:00 it's time for the mother of Czech drag, Chi Chi Tornado — an iconic figure of the Czech travesti & drag scene, with an unmistakable style, a sharp sense of humor, and a deep love for the show. A being whose life could easily fill a bestseller.
At 19:15 we welcome Chica Checa Pala Santa — the drag persona of acclaimed actor Jan Cina, born during the filming of Šimon Holý's new movie Chica Checa. She'll take you through her world, the film's behind-the-scenes, and her own desires. There will be dancing — and who knows what else.
At 19:45, singer and musical actor Laco Hudec Šubrt arrives from Bratislava to introduce his one-of-a-kind drag persona Laziza Vuitton — a creature who isn't just a performer but an experience. Born from glitter, raised on applause, and living for the moments of breathing with her audience. Bold, loud, unmistakable.
The night culminates from 20:00 with a special set by DJ Jan Witek — a musical odyssey titled Divas & Icons, paying tribute to the queens and kings of pop who have shaped queer culture across decades. From Madonna, Cher and George Michael to Lady Gaga, Chappell Roan and Troye Sivan. Come celebrate pride, freedom, and the music that brings us together and makes us dance. This is going to be an unforgettable night opening this year's Prague Pride Festival. Don't miss it!
