About
This mixed-media exhibition presents a loosely conceived timeline of significant moments in Czech history viewed through the lens of LGBTQ+ memory, identity and visibility.
Through collage, painting and other artistic techniques, the exhibition moves through various historical periods and explores how social and political shifts have shaped love, identity, one's relationship to the body, and the form of community life.
Each work is a fragment of memory – a reflection of silence, resistance, transformation and pride. The exhibition invites visitors to look at history not only through the lens of major political events, but also through the lives, emotions and stories of people who were often deliberately overlooked or left out of official narratives.
Admission – free
Accessibility – suitable for teens, dog-friendly, wheelchair accessible
Vibe check – intimate event (up to around 30 people), quiet event (no loud music, shouting, etc.)
Trigger warnings – please note that part of the exhibition contains nude or semi-nude bodies and addresses sensitive historical topics, including the persecution and murder of gay men during the Nazi occupation, as well as silencing, surveillance and invisibility during the communist era. The exhibition approaches these themes with respect, sensitivity and an artistic intent to reflect on memory, identity, resistance and dignity.
