Tereza Domínová's Fourth Wave: Lesbionica – Princess of the Wild Cosmos

In this playful Australian animated feature, awarded the Teddy Award in Berlin, introverted cosmo-lesbian princess Saira embarks on an inter-gay-lactic mission to rescue her ex from evil incel aliens.

Introverted Princess Saira, daughter of the flamboyant lesbian queens of planet Clitopolis, is devastated when her girlfriend – human huntress Kiki – suddenly dumps her for being too clingy. When Kiki is kidnapped by white heterosexual mufoons – the forgotten incels of the future – Saira must leave the comfort of her homosexual universe to deliver the demanded ransom: her royal labrys, the mightiest weapon known to lesbian-kind.

Only problem is… Saira doesn't have it! With just 24 hours to obtain the weapon and save Kiki, Saira sets off on an inter-gay-lactic journey of self-discovery, including an encounter with a problematic spaceship and a newfound friendship with gay-pop refugee Willow. A bouncy, candy-colored animated comedy adventure across the all-embracing vastness of the queer cosmos.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with an all-female panel – guests to be announced.

Hosted by Tereza Domínová – film critic and distribution dramaturg who serves up a must-see dose of emancipation every month. Her feminist series focuses on films made by women, featuring fascinating female characters who help push against gender stereotypes.
