About
Let dance transport you to the Caribbean! Try out salsa and cha-cha. In this lesson you'll learn new steps, but above all you'll have a great time to the rhythm of Latin American music. Come alone, as a couple, or with friends. Dance really is for everyone.
Salsa is playful, cheerful, and energetic, with origins reaching back to the 1960s. Today it's a fusion of originally Puerto Rican, Cuban, and Dominican dances. In our lesson we'll be flexible and learn a few easily combinable steps and short variations. You'll enjoy it both in a pair and solo.
Cha-cha is a lively Latin American dance that appeared around 1950 in Cuba under the name cha-cha-cha, pronounced in Czech phonetically as čača. It emerged from a combination of predominantly Afro-Cuban rhythms with elements of jazz. The basic movement and most of the simple figures are the same for both dancers, so it's possible to take part completely free of gender stereotypes.
The lesson is led by dance instructor and choreographer Tomáš Parilák, who has devoted more than 30 years to ballroom dance.
It's going to be an experience!
