About
Helsinki, 1945. The end of the war brings painter Tove Jansson a sense of artistic and social freedom. While she focused her artistic dreams on painting, the enchanting stories about creatures called the Moomins—which she told to frightened children in air-raid shelters—quickly took on a life of their own and brought her international fame and financial independence.
Her desire for freedom is tested when she meets theater director Vivica Bandler, who ignites an electrifying and all-consuming love in her. As she searches for her artistic identity, she discovers that true love, which she craves so deeply, cannot merely be desired—it must be reciprocated. Only when she forges her own path can she truly understand what it means to be free.
Following the film screening is the Drink&Draw art workshop, which combines carefully selected beverages from Edison Filmhub café with an art masterclass led by the DRAWetc art studio. The result is your own unique work of art. The workshop is conducted primarily in English.
